The IFC Committee consists of some of the leading lights of the Iranian film industry who act in an advisory capacity for matters relating to our work. They are committed to our cause and invaluable to the work of the IFC.
Asghar Farhadi is a multi award winning director and screenwriter. He is the only Iranian ever to have won an Academy Award, and his 2013 film ‘The Past’ has been well received at international film festivals, winning Best Actress at Cannes.
Born in Kerman in 1971, Mirtahmasb is a prominent producer and filmmaker who began his career making documentaries. His 2012 documentary ‘This is not a film’ was nominated in the Best Docmentary category at the 2013 Academy Awards.
Nasser Saffarian studied English Literature before becoming a regular contributor to several film periodicals. His most recent work has focused on the life and works of celebrated Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad.
After getting involved in theatre as a teenager, Fatemeh motamed-Arya has gone on to become one of the most celebrated actresses of post-revolutionary Iranian cinema. She has won the Crystal Simourgh four times.
Pouran Derakhshandeh is an Iranian film director, producer, screen writer, and researcher. With a career spanning over 30 years, her films continue to break box office records today.
